Uncle John has been a good man and great-uncle, and his extended family will miss his humor. While we didn't talk much about sea stories, the Navy did bring us together in some funny ways. Despite the distance, we're still here for the family.

John was " Uncle John" to my sons. He and I loved to argue, especially when he gave Bonnie a hard time. He and my husband Mark always got along, and we enjoyed many birthday dinners at Red Lobster for Bonnie's birthday. He was an extremely intelligent man, a man of few words, who loved his country, his home, and his family. He was extremely protective of his " baby sister " and always teased her about everything, but he loved her fiercely. John, RIP, you will be dearly missed. Love, Mark, Bevi, Paul, Allie, Lee and Natalie, and Yenta
