Michael James Wilson
Michael Wilson age 68 of Atlantic Highlands NJ passed into eternal life on Sunday August 25th, 2024. There is no question that that he was in a state of grace and a true Child of God at his passing
Michael was born on February 14th, 1956, at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch NJ and was the youngest of the 9 children of Genevieve and Frank Wilson, Jr of Atlantic Highlands, NJ.
He is predeceased by his parents and brothers Frank Wilson III, Robert Allen Wilson, Lawrence Andrew Wilson and Joseph James Wilson, He is survived by his brother Peter Andrew Wilson and sisters Margret Mary O’Brien, Carol Ann Brooks and Theresa Merli as well as his numerous nephews and nieces and grand nephews and nieces.
Michael graduated from St. Agnes Elementary School, Red Bank Catholic High School and Brookdale Community College.
Michael’s lifelong passion was working with disabled children. He received numerous certificates and letters of thanks from State, County and non-profit agencies, including The Special Olympics for all of his help with these groups. He also worked for many years as a patient transporter for Jersey Shore Medical Hospital.
Another passion was for music of many kinds, but especially for his beloved Carpenters. Music particularly from the 1970 and 1980’s has been his constant companion for many years
Michael met the many challenges of his life with persistence and determination. His sense of humor was matchless and is the character quality that will be the most remembered by all his family and friends.
He was surrounded by family and the many loving friends, both staff and fellow residents, he made at Complete Care At Madison in Matawan, NJ. His family will forever be grateful for the loving, competent care he received at this facility. Everyone we met there was truly dedicated to the service they gave to him and all of the people in their care.
Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him will ‘smile in his direction’ whenever they think of him… a true Child of God and a very funny, generous guy!
