Edward Hapstak, 83, of Atlantic Highlands, N.J., passed away peacefully on July 5th, 2024.
Edward was born February 24th, 1941 in Rahway hospital to Michael and Anna Hapstak. Ed graduated from Woodbridge high school in June of 1960 and then moved onto the International Typographical Union(ITU) where he received his diploma in printing in July 1965.
Edward married Karilyn, his high school sweetheart, on September 15th, 1963 at St. Elias church in Carteret, N.J. And they remained married for 60 years. Edward and Karilyn moved to Atlantic Highlands in 1968 and were blessed with the birth of two sons, Edward M. Hapstak and Daniel Hapstak in the following years.
Ed enjoyed sailing and fishing in the Sandy Hook area and also at his cabin on the Delaware river and also enjoyed playing his guitar, especially country music, and loved being with his family and making them laugh. Ed was also an avid dart player and finished 4th in the 1975 U.S. open in Ohio and took home first place in the Raritan Bay dart league in 1977-1978. Ed and Karilyn through the years have also enjoyed a number of cruises and enjoyed relaxing and having fun.
Ed received Jesus as his savior on June 24th, 2024 as he and Karilyn prayed together in the hospital. He is in heaven now with Jesus, no more pain, worshipping his savior, breathing wonderful air. We’d like you to picture him walking around smiling, singing songs and enjoying life eternal. God promised me you and your household will be saved and he keeps his promises. Trust him! Acts 16 25-34
