Obituary of Helen Marchetti

Helen Mount Marchetti, age 98, a lifelong resident of Atlantic Highlands, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2023.
Born on April 7, 1925, Helen lived her entire life in Atlantic Highlands.
Helen loved "her town" with a passionate life of servitude. Helen attended St. Agnes Grade School and Red Bank Catholic. Helen worked
for New Jersey Natural Gas Company and was Administrator at Atlantic Highands Nursing Home. During her retirement, Helen volunteered at
the Atlantic Highlands Methodist Church Food Bank.
Helen was predeceseased by her parents, Wiliam and Anna Mount, her sister Elizabeth, brother Jack and husband, Peter Marchetti and Lester
Lienick. She is survived by nieces Susan (Dan) Dyrek, Barbara (Bill) Kornek, nephew John Mount and their families.
Helen was elected as council member and then became the first female
mayor in Atlantic Highlands. Helen was also a member of the Atlantic
Highlands Planning Board, Recreation Council, Harbor Commission and School Board. In addition to these, Helen was active in the Atlantic
Highlands Yacht Club, Historical Society, Lions Club (where she established a scholarship in honor of her late husband, Peter Marhetti),
Fire Department Ladies Auxillary, and St Agnes Senior Club.
Visitation for Helen will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Posten-McGinley Funeral Home 59 E Lincoln
Avenue, Atlantic Highlands, NJ. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations made be made in Helens name to Atlantic Highlands Local 242 PBA or Atlantic Highlands Fire Department.
