Helen Jean Black age 88, of Blairstown, went to be with the Lord at her son Dan's home, surrounded by her family on September 6, 2023. She was born in Long Branch and lived in Navesink for 22 years and Blairstown for 39 years. Helen graduated from Leonardo High School in 1952 where she was a cheerleader.
Helen worked as secretary for her husband George Black's construction company, to later retire with her husband Bud "the love of her life" to start Glenview Farm growing and selling Christmas Trees.
Helen was a devoted christian and attended Central Baptist Church, A.H. and The First United Methodist Church of Blairstown.
Surviving are her sister Nancy and brother in-law Jackie Hueston, her daughter Judy, son and daughter in-law David and Colleen Black, Daniel and Colleen Black, grandson and his wife, Jason & Katherine Black, David Black, Chris &Jessica Black, Joshua & Laura Black,grandsons, Daniel T. Black, Tyler Black, Brendan Black & fiance Liz Weimer, Andrew Young. granddaughter and her husband Cailtin and Chris Osborne,Sarabeth and Kevin Sullivan,Cassie & Ryan Bellezza, Hannah and Tyler Barry, great grandchildren Leila, Braden, Molly, Samuel, Tatum, Dakota, Aidan, Bryan, Callan Colden, Parker, Forrest, Willow, Loralei, Darla, Winnie, Jace, Emma Riley ,Wesley, many aunts & uncles,many nieces and nephews and "dozens of cousins".
Helen was preceded in death by her husband George H. Black and brothers Bob and Jack, sisters Betty, and Lois.
Helen/Nan enjoyed spending time at the farm in the country and visits with grandchildren and friends.
