Obituary of Elise M. Bishop
Elise M Bishop, of Lake Mary, Florida went to be with the Lord on June 5, 2023. Elise was born and raised in Staten Island, NY and was a graduate of the High School of Fashion Industries in NYC . She began her career as a fashion colorist for a NYC fashion company working alongside two fashion designers. After moving to New Jersey and starting her family, Elise served on the Board of Elections for the Freehold Board of Elections. As she lovingly and devotedly raised her family. Elise enjoyed and excelled at baking and later opened and owned her own cake decorating business, Creative Cakes in Red Bank, NJ. Elise was known to many as " Mrs. B" and was sought after by many for her specialty of one of a kind hand carved cakes . Two of her most noted clients were radio host John Gambling of NYC, former Governor Whitman and the Countess of Luxembourg. Elise continued in varied interests and desired to always help give back to others and her community and led her to become the Captain of the Red Bank First Aid Squad from 1985-1991. She also served as the treasurer of the Monmouth County First Aid Association during her service years. Elise simultaneously was President of Ladies Auxiliary Red Bank Elks Lodge B.P.O.E #233, and was honored as Lady of the Year in 1996. Prior to moving to Florida, Elise was a licensed lay reader and a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Navesink , NJ.
Elise is survived by her three sons, Kenneth Bishop of Lebanon, Tenn., Michael Bishop and his wife Rachel of Lake Mary, Fla., and Thomas Bishop and his wife Monica of Lebanon,Tenn. Four grandchildren , Toniann Pezzullo, Ryan Bishop, Kenneth Bishop Jr., and his wife Stacey and Mackenzie Bishop, one great granddaughter Ava. Elise is also survived by her brother Richard Kovach and wife Maureen of Tinton Falls, two nieces Caroline and Stephanie, four nephews Chase, Mark, Arron and Adam of Texas, her Aunt Eloise Koenig of Aberdeen NJand many cousins throughout the country. Elise was predeceased by her Husband Charles Bishop and her younger brother Robert Kovach.
Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects on Friday June 16th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. at Central Baptist Church in Atlantic Highlands, NJ 07716. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday June 17th at the church at 10am. Internment will follow at Fairview Cemetery , Middletown, NJ.
